More than half of the country has some form of dental insurance, and if you count yourself among this group, then you can rest easy because our dental office is happy to take your plan. Our team is very familiar with the ins and outs of several popular policies, and we find that most patients are eager to learn basic tips on how to maximize their coverage. Below, you’ll find some general ways to get the most out of your benefits, but to learn more regarding your specific policy, we invite you to give our team a call.
Dr. Timmerman is in-network with many of the most popular PPO dental insurance providers, meaning our dental office is able to offer patients the absolute highest level of savings possible. But, we’re also happy to work with several out-of-network plans as well. If you don’t see your provider on the list below, go ahead and give us a call with your policy information handy. We’ll likely still be able to offer you discounts on your care, and you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised by how much! We are not dental providers of Medicaid, Apple Health, Apple Care, Provider 1, or Molina.
Don’t find yours? Ask our friendly team if we take your plan.
The most important thing to understand about dental insurance is that the majority of plans are primarily designed to help people prevent dental issues as opposed to treating them. That’s why services like checkups and cleanings tend to receive more coverage than fillings and crowns. You can still use your insurance to pay for dental repair, but if you’re looking to save as much as possible, focusing on prevention is the best way to go. By doing this, a patient will also drastically lower their need for more expensive procedures over time, helping lower their overall care cost even more.
Expanding on what we mentioned above, for most policies, preventive treatments like checkups and cleanings are covered 80-100%, which is usually the highest offered by any plan. Below that, restorative services like fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, extractions, and root canals are covered about 50-70%. This is why we tell patients they should use their plans mainly for prevention! For cosmetic dentistry, it is typically NOT covered because the procedures are considered elective. This refers to treatments like teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, and cosmetic bonding.
When treating some conditions, Dr. Timmerman can actually use your medical insurance. As is often the case when treating snoring and sleep apnea, or even sinus lifts and bone grafting, medical insurance can help out.
However, NO dentist is in-network with a medical plan. If we can use your medical insurance, we can save YOU money (who doesn’t like to save money?).
Your new smile is only a few clicks away.
Born and raised in Kirkland, Dr. Timmerman believes that a true dentist is also an artist, and he even displays works of art in our dental office (including a sculpture he made with his own hands) to demonstrate his aesthetic-minded eye.
Seeing people smile brighter after their appointments is always a joy, which is why his dental office is open to new patients and families who are ready to achieve the dental health and happiness they deserve. If you’d like to learn more about him, just keep reading below.
We take the time to make everything right. Just imagine:
