That’s where our 3D cone beam scanner comes in. This technology creates an accurate 3D image of the nerves, blood vessels, and other elements and features that can help Dr. Timmerman meticulously plan out procedures like dental implant placement to ensure successful healing and treatment.
Low radiation digital X-rays allow Dr. Timmerman to create high-resolution images of the teeth and bones around the mouth. This is an important step in diagnosing early tooth decay, bone loss, and abnormalities such as tumors or cysts. We recommend taking a set of bitewing X-rays at least once a year to assess areas between the teeth that are not visible during a clinical exam. The reason this is so important is that it allows Dr. Timmerman to diagnose areas when treatment needs are small, saving your healthy tooth structure and also minimizing the amount that you’ll need to invest in dental treatment costs.
If you’ve ever had traditional impressions taken in the past, you already know just how uncomfortable they can be. And, in the end, you’d sometimes end up with a restoration or appliance that didn’t fit properly. At Dr. Timmerman’s dental office, we use the iTero digital impression system, which means that you can just sit back and relax while we scan your teeth and collect accurate data measuring the inside of your mouth. We use The Wand, a device that makes even this step of the process painless. Now, you may not feel the injection at all.
